Zack Shubkagel


Zack is a proven leader with a passion for the built environment, sustainability and projects that directly impact our society. Leading the San Francisco Office he inspires and manages our creative team to create result-driven work. Throughout his 17-year career he has connected the dots between design and business solutions. He is grounded in developing brand experiences that translate through environments, packaging, interactive and print communications. He has led projects for accounts including Panera Bread, Hostess Brands, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City and also designs for projects including the KC Chamber, Cerner, Trabon Group, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, New Leaf Paper, SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza, Sheridan’s Lattes & Frozen Custard and Feng. A journalism/advertising graduate from the University of Missouri, Zack has been with Willoughby since 2004. He is also an alumnus of the AIGA Business Perspectives for Creative Leaders program at the Yale School of Management.

A leader in the design community, Zack has served as committee chair for San Francisco Design Week. He has served on the nominating committee for AIGA’s National Board, program chair for AIGA’s Get Out the Vote Initiative, and has served as president of AIGA Kansas City. Zack helped launch the first KC Design Week. Zack has served as design judge and speaker for several groups including AIGA Chapters and Art Director’s Clubs. He also enjoys teaching and served as adjunct instructor at the Academy of Art University.
