SIGNAGE • WAYFINDING
The all-new Loews Kansas City Hotel has 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space and 800 guest rooms in the heart of downtown. Willoughby collaborated with architectural firm, Cooper Carry, to design a signage and wayfinding package that accentuates the clean lines and modern architecture while clearly guiding a wide range of guests through the convention hotel experience.
Working from schematics all the way through to construction documentation and installation supervision, our primary objective was to bring a warm, elegant and functional finishing touch to this beautiful and much anticipated addition to KC hospitality.

The main exterior monument sign is manufactured with a custom acrylic printed to mimic the movement of water. Illuminated from the inside, it shimmers and sparkles at night, a subtle nod to our City of Fountains.

The expansive interior signage system was designed to enhance the architectural elements throughout the space. The freestanding main directory is fabricated from varying heights of wood planks, directly correlating to the expansive wooden feature wall above the reception desk.

The wayfinding components, carefully crafted using upscale materials and extreme attention to detail, create ease of navigation between the hotel’s 22 meeting and banquet rooms, 24 floors of guest rooms and parking garage.

Using Loews’ proprietary restaurant brands, we translated the identities into eye-catching dimensional signage prominently displayed throughout the lobby and rooftop deck.
