The Inn at Meadowbrook is a boutique hotel oasis situated alongside Meadowbrook Park — a recently reimagined park and community hub located on land that was previously home to the 136-acre Meadowbrook Country Club and Golf Course. Willoughby was engaged by the property developer to collaborate on the positioning, designed experience and brand identities for The Inn and the duo of upscale dining establishments within the Inn, Verbena and The Market. Both restaurants are sited park side to serve hotel guests, park goers and the surrounding community.
As the only hotel in Prairie Village, a suburban enclave outside of Kansas City, this intimate and unexpected boutique hotel was created to serve upper tier business travelers and those who might be considering relocating to the area. Equally, it serves leisure travelers and the surrounding community. People visiting family and friends in the area, weddings, showers, reunions and romantic getaways.
A custom key, representing a more personalized and luxurious era, is the primary mark. A series of branded patterns using a rich navy palette with deep cream and gold accents work in tandem with a classic typeface to complement the upscale amenities and the Inn’s commitment to traditional concierge level service.
In collaboration with LRK architects, we extended the identity to the Inn’s signage system and architectural accents, including a “key wall,” created with antique keys sourced from around the country. The identity appears in everything from social media to wallpaper to the bicycles, sleds and picnic baskets that are available to guests who want to get out and explore the park.
